2023 ING Educational Leadership Scholarship Recipients

Miguel Prado (he/him/his) was born and raised in the Los Angeles area by Mexican parents.

He recently graduated from Hawthorne Math and Science Academy and will be attending El Camino College in Torrence, CA. He plans to study Computer Information Systems.

Rocio Orozco (she/her/hers) was born and raised in Inglewood, CA by Mexican parents. 

 

She recently graduated from Animo Inglewood Charter High School and will be attending California State University, Dominguez Hills in Carson, CA. She plans to study Business Administration.

Ariyana Griffin (she/her/hers) was born and raised in Inglewood, CA. 

In 2022, she earned her B.A. in Mass Media Arts with a concentration in Journalism and a minor in Sociology from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, GA.

Currently, she is obtaining her M.A. in Global Journalism and Communication with an emphasis on Sustainability and Urban Planning at Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD. 

She enjoys participating in community service events in her community as well as the greater Los Angeles area, the same community who gave her so much.

Lizette Gonzalez (she/her/hers) was born and raised in Inglewood, CA by Mexican parents. 

She recently graduated from The Archer School for Girls and was the first in her family to attend a university at Pomona College in Claremont, CA. She plans to study Politics and Chicano Studies, since she is passionate about learning more about her own identity and connecting it to her interest in politics, activism, and journalism.

As a firm believer of people power, she hopes to fight against the injustices in this country and ground her work in community and inclusion, and particularly help and share the stories of immigrant communities after college.
