Co-Director of Programming

Vick Garcia (he/him/his) was raised in Inglewood, CA by Mexican parents. 

He recently graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a B.A. in Sociology and Chicanx Studies and a minor in Education. 

Currently, Vick is a full time College Advisor at Venice High School, wroking under the guidance of UCLA’s Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP).

Besides working in education, his biggest goals in life are pursuing a postgraduate degree, working with programs to support youth, and supporting his family with their own dreams.

Yadira Colon (she/her/hers) was raised in Inglewood, CA to a Mexican mother and Puerto Rican father. 

In 2019, she earned a B.A. in Sociology from California State University, Dominguez Hills. While at CSU Dominguez Hills, Yadira developed a passion for helping others. 

Currently, Yadira works as an instructional aid at an elementary school helping children develop the proper skills to transition into successful young adults. She is also the Co-Founder of @corazonescompasivos, which provides support to houseless people in Inglewood and its neighboring cities with meals and essential kits.

Yadira plans on earning a M.A. in Social Work to help underserved children in her community.

Yadira is ready to take on a new step in her journey by joiing the ING Fellowship to raise awareness and be involved in her community.

Lily Trejo (she/her/hers) was born and raised in Inglewood, CA to a Salvadoran mother and Mexican father.

In 2016, Lily earned a B.A. in Sociology and Philosophy from the University of California, Santa Barbara. While at UCSB, Lily developed a passion for helping others through volunteer work as a member of Sigma Alpha Zeta, an organization on campus.

Since graduating from UCSB, Lily has worked as a Behavior Interventionist, Youth Counselor, and Program Associate. She hopes to dedicate herself to a career in social justice.

fei hernandez (they/them/theirs) was born in Chihuahua, México and raised in Inglewood, CA by a strong single mother.

They are a trans non-binary visual artist, writer, and healer.

féi is the author of Hood Criatura, published by Sundress Publications, 2020. Their writing has been featured in Poetry, Oxford Review of Books, Frontier, NPR’s Code Switch, Immigrant Report, Nonbinary: Memoirs of Gender and Identity (Columbia University Press, 2019), Hayden’s Ferry Review Issue 64, BreakBeat Poets Volume 4: LatiNEXT, and PANK Magazine.

They were a femmetor for the 2019-2020 Seeds of Liberación (SOL) leadership development program for young transgender, gender non-conforming, and intersex (TGI) people in Los Angeles.

féi is a certified Reiki and Akashic Records practitioner who utilizes a decolonial approach to ancestral energetic healing.

They collect Pokémon plushies.

féi is the President of Gender Justice Los Angeles and is a Co-Founder of the ING Fellowship.

Yaritza Gonzalez (she/her/hers) was born and raised in Inglewood, CA by Mexican parents, and is a proud role model to her two younger sisters.

In 2016, Yaritza earned a B.A. in Geography with a minor in Public Policy from Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH.
Currently, she works as a paralegal at an immigrant rights organization in Los Angeles, CA.

She plans on becoming a licensed attorney to help eradicate the systemic injustices that hinder underrepresented communities like hers from thriving in society.

Steven Zatarain (he/him/his) was born and raised in Inglewood, CA to Mexican parents, who were also raised in Inglewood.

In 2015, Steve earned a B.A. in Psychology from Middlebury College in Middlebury, VT.

Since graduating from Middlebury, he has worked as a live-in Residential Director and as a Trainer at the Posse Foundation in Los Angeles, CA, focusing on youth development and mentorship.

Currently, he works as an Assistant Director of Admissions at his alma mater, continuing his work in community building and inclusion on college campuses.

Steve is a Co-Founder of the ING Fellowship.
